My media studies class just watched a rather creepy version of Lewis Carroll's 'Alice's Adventures In Wonderland'. Jan Svankmajer's 'Alice' was very creepy.
Everything from socks to pieces of meat were animated and this strange animation was combined with a bit of live action to create a surreal and overall spooky effect.

Despite it's weirdness and intensely annoying and dull repetitive closeups of badly dubbed lips,I quite enjoyed it.

It's very different from the Disney version, which is good as Disney just cutifies everything.I think it captures the book much better than the Disney interpretation did and I think this is perhaps more how Carroll intended it to be.

Still,I eagerly await 'Alice' starring Sarah Michelle Gellar and also Tim Burton's interpretation of this classic tale, due for release in 2010 if I think correctly?

Over and out.
