  • I Am Not My Hair

    It's all about Attitude...

There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.
"Well" she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today."
So she did and she had a wonderful day!

The next day she work up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.
    "H-M-M," she said,
"I think I'll part my hair down the middle today."
So she did and had a grand day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head.
"Well," she said, "today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail."
So she did, and she had a fun, fun day!

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head.
"YAY!" she exclaimed, "I don't have to fix my hair today!"

    Attitude is Everything!

I seen this over on alopecia world and thought it was fantastic.Such an uplifting and positive way to look at things rather than the pessimistic view I seem to hold.I'm not bald, quite far from it,but I do only have about half of my hair left and so am struggling a bit with coverings.Hopefully come Friday when I get my hair piece that will all change!

  • Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog - Act One

If you don't know what this is - go google it and then come back :)

Ok so first off the DrHorrible website wasn't working. What's a Whedon's obssessed girl to do?Anyway found it on the Whedon blog instead and watched it there. That's not taking away from the purpose of the project is it?

    Anyway,I loved it.

Pure Whedon genius from start to finish. Hilariously funny. And Nathan Fillion is slowly becoming one of my favourite actors - wait for it - maybe even more so than James Marsters...88|- maybe not. But he is fantastic and hilariously funny with the best comic timing of any actor.

Great, great fun.I cannot wait for Act II.

    A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do...

damn you JOSS WHEDON and your catchy musical numbers!

Now,go watch it and see what I'm talking about :b

    Until Next Time

  • Mamma Mia,Here I Go Again!

Last night my friends and I headed out to go see the film Mamma Mia. Being big ABBA fans we were really looking forward to it. So,ridiculously priced snacks in hand,we entered the screen and sat down to enjoy ourselves

This movie has got to be the ultimate feel good film of the year. It's camp, romantic, hilarious and full of singing and dance sequences that have you singing along and then singing all the way home too.

The cast were great, although admittedly I'm not the biggest fan of Pierce Brosnan or Colin Firth but I did think they fitted their roles well in this film. Meryl Streep was excellent and I really felt for her character when she was dressing up Sophie to get married and singing about how she was losing her.The supporting cast were hilarious - Julie Walters being the funniest. She was just fantastic,my favourite performance of the film by far.

The singing was mediocre. I was pleasantly surprised by Meryl Streep's voice and she done a good job. Amanda Seyfried's voice sounded more trained,if that makes sense, than the others and I think that took away from the sing along quality that the other songs had.The male cast members were ok at carrying their songs. But Pierce Brosnan, well, lets just say singing lessons would be a good investment.

The backdrop of a Greek island was beautiful and added to the magical quality that this film has. Good use was made of the space and there were many breath taking shots included in the film that showed off the stunning beauty of the place.

Overall, this film was most enjoyable.A must for any
ABBA fans and the ultimate in feel good films.Yes it's cheesy [particularly Pierce Brosnan as he tries to woo Meryl Streep with an ABBA song under the guise of a straight face :))], Yes there's a couple of holes here and there. But it's a fun, camp, musical phenomenon and I loved it from start to finish!

    9/10 on all counts

    Until Next Time
