This was the last 'hurrah' of the summer holidays. My friends and I went to see it a couple of nights before school went back, and I was pleasantly surprised by it.

Lets get this straight - I'm not the worlds biggest chick flick fan. I own quite a few, and there's the odd one that gets me,but in general,I prefer other stuff.

This film won't be winning any prizes for depth or originality, but there is some fun to be had.

Good performances overall - Emma Roberts is quite a promising talent and the supporting cast fleshed out characters that could have been very two dimensional and boring. My favourite performance however comes from Shirley Henderson who plays the rather scary Matron.

The plot is pretty predictable, nothing special in terms of originality.

However, the script did deliver a lot of funny one liners as well as some touching bonding moments. It had a little more edge to it than your typical teen flick, which I liked.

One thing I would have liked to have seen however,is a bit more of Holly's life in LA,as it felt the opening was over very quickly.

So,if you're up for a bit of not very serious fun, give it a go.There's lots of smiles, good humour and an easy to follow plot which should make for a fairly decent evening of entertainment.

Until Next Time
