I've been puzzled for sometime by the fact that although I feel a gut instinct loyalty to God, I also do not have a gut instinct of dissaproval of homosexuality, as it seems to be construed by the media and some extremists etc that Christians should have. If that makes sense?

I'm about to be baptised and come into membership at my own church. We're fairly liberal and don't exactly do things in the traditional way, but when it comes down to it, the bible is the word of God. It says in the church constitution that to be a member you must live a lifestyle in keeping with the Christian faith. I do that to the best of my ability, however is actively not criticising something that the bible speaks against, and therefore condoning it, not in keeping with the Christian way of life? I was slightly worried about coming into membership with this worry over me. I cannot and feel that I should not find it in myself to criticise homosexuality. I have many gay friends and have no problem with their lifestyle, it is their life (note I do not say choice - I do not believe that your sexuality is a choice.People are the way they are) and who am I to tell them they are wrong. The bible preaches above all other things, love, and whatever your opinion of Jesus Christ, whether Son of God or phoney, he was certainly not about exclusion. That is why it angers me so so so SO much when I see Christians preaching hatred and exclusion and not love and inclusion. But anyway, what sparked this post what a post I read over at the wonderful Hayley G Hoover blog. She made things make sense to me.

So, for a bit of a clearer post on what I'm actually trying to say go here.

Hope you're all well, and that I've not offended anybody. Please don't tell me I'm brainwashed by the church, or that God doesn't exist. Or anything else, I personally have found in my own life and in the witness of others that there is proof enough of a living Jesus Christ for me to believe in him. I am not someone who blindly follows, I believe it is wrong to do that. But in my opinion the bible is the guidance for the Christian life, and I have been really struggling up until today with the fact that I so heavily disagreed with this particular aspect. Again I say I really do hope I haven't offended anyone, feel free to share your own thoughts and opinions below.

I've seen this twice now so feel I am ready to give you a proper review of this film.

As a whole, I didn't enjoy this as much as I'd hoped to. I feel that this is something that is no better than a badly put together one off tv documentary and it could've been shown as such. This leads me to think the only reason it's in the cinema is as a complete money making scheme. Shame on them.

However, if you're a Jackson fan, it's worth going to see. You can tell from the film that his shows were going to be mind blowing. He is on, if not top, very good form. He sings, dances and runs around the stage without getting so much as out of breath. And this is a man who is 50 years old, not old but far from the young Michael Jackson who could pull off all of those dance moves. He does it well and keeps up with the young, fit as a fiddle dancers who are backing him up.

Aside from being an interesting look into his rehearsals, it's nothing special and I'd say unless you're a Jacko fan really you're not going to take anything away from it.

Notable though is the fact that aside from being rather skinny, he looked healthy and in good shape. Makes his death a bit sadder to me. Anyway. Alright film, dunno if I'll be buying the dvd though.

Your thoughts, opinions?

I saw this film in Paris and thought I'd better get around to reviewing it, so here we go.

Poor show, I'd say. Amanda Seyfriend and Megan Fox do well enough, but the problem isn't with them. It's with the poor script they've been given, I feel.

Sure it's a bit of good fun. Sexy, relevant, very teen orientated. But it's just not that good a film.

I'm not sure if they were going for a comic tone or not, but at times to me it just came off as really funny. Diablo Cody certainly writes humour better than she does horror, that's for sure. The plot could have been interesting but drifted off into a mega far fetched weirdness. The effects were bad, the ending very unrealistic, the whole thing shot a little bit shoddily.

As a whole, I'd say wait for the dvd.

I'm doing good and as promised have finished my Paris report, so now it's time for some movie reviews. The first is for the Meryl Streep and Amy Adams vehicle - Julie & Julia. I seen it about two months ago so I'll be fuzzy on the details, but I'll give it a shot....

To anyone who keeps a blog, which i'm guessing if you read this you do, you'll know the stress that comes with not having updated in a while. So challenge yourself, if you can, to the thought of blogging every day. And on top of that - carrying out a self set, daunting challenge in front of the eyes of all of your readers. Scary prospect I know.

This film, based on the true stories of Julia Child and Julie Powell, follows one woman who has set herself such a challenge, and one who is trying to find some kind of challenge in her life.

As a whole it is thoroughly entertaining and a great film to pick you up when you're feeling a bit down. Meryl Streep is fantastic as always and Amy Adams certainly doesn't fall under the shadow of Streep's talent.

It's stylish, funny and just enjoyable overall. I would highly reccommend it to anyone, especially bloggers.

That's about all I can remember.

Hope you're all well.

We finished packing and cleaned up the aparment (removing various shaving foam acts of vandalism from the bathroom wall! ) and then went down to give Giovanni the keys, only to discover he wasn't there.Eventually someone turned up and we passed the keys onto them, so hopefully they got them back ok!?

Walk back to the Gare Du Nord was nothing on the traumatic marathon we walked on arrival, and things were all fine. We had to change trains once on the way to the airport, and I'd lost my ticket so couldn't get through the barriers at the other end, but Kirsty let me through with her and all was good.

Flight went well and was happy to get home.

Overall a fantastic week.

Some highlights:

Memories:

*Climbing the Eiffel Tower
*Seeing Notre Dame
*The men that play music on the metro
*Disneyland Paris
*Late night chats and just general fun with my five favourite people.

A great week guys, and hopefully the first of many. Love you all x

MOULIN ROUGE, AND AMELIE'S CAFE

Got up about half nine and had cheese on toast and a cup of tea for breakfast. Then we headed out shopping on the Champs Elysees one last time. It was all good at first - I bought myself another nine dvds (Volver,The Sixth Sense,Benny and Joon,The Godfather,Belleville Rendevouz,Dirty Dancing,A Clockwork Orange,Interview With A Vampire and Rock Horror and Gina got Volver aswell because it was 10 for €50!)

All was good until we went into Zara and Gina's money got stolen - the THEIVING BASTARDS! €85 cash taken right out of her purse. They didn't take her cards so I suppose we can be thankful for that, but still. It's gutting that we got to the last day without anything like that and then BAM some bugger goes and spoils it all.

We went home after that and packed. Then I went for a nap and we got ready to go for something to eat at Giovanni's. Pizza's and cokes all round.

Then we went to the Moulin Rouge. We didn't go see the show because lets face it - rip off. But we did take lots of pretty pictures and I got to wear THE PURPLE DRESS! (Note to future self - you spent ages trying to slim down to fit into that dress, and it did eventually fit a couple of weeks before you went away. Hence the capitalisation and importance.) The Moulin Rouge was smaller than expected, but still very pretty. Then, the highlight of the day for me - WE WENT FOR HOT CHOCOLATE IN AMELIE'S CAFE! It was pretty cool and a got a photo of the gnome Amelie steals.

Finally, we went to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle one last time and it put on the best light show we'd seen all week - changing colours and generally just being very pretty.

Last day in Paris was a really enjoyable one.

Until Next Time

Slept in till quarter past one then headed up to the MASSIVE H&M up the road from us. I bought Snoopy socks and some cosy mittens for winter time. We tried to book the fashion show again for the next day (Friday) but it was 'fully booked' according to the woman who seemed to know who we were, and that we'd failed to turn up the previous week.

After that we headed to the catacombs and after walking in a complete circle found the poorly marked entrace. Turned out our journey was a waste of time anyway because they were closed due to acts of vandalism.

A little upset by that, we soon cheered up when after heading over the champs elysees again we managed to find Carrie Bradshaw's hotel! It was very pretty. We also seen all the designer shops and got followed.

Then we were for lunch at a cafe called Cafe Mode. Very applicable. I had a sandwich mixte (ham and cheese). It was certainly a workout for the jaw! We then headed back up to the champs elysees and done some shopping. I bought a top at Zara that says "Bite Me" and has fangs and lips on it. I also bought a grumpy dwarf at the AMAZING disney store they have there. Then we bought tickets to go see Jennifer's Body. After that, as we had time to kill, we went to a dvd shop we had earlier found whilst shopping.I bought 5 Disney dvds for €50 which is a pretty good deal considering they were €15-€20 each. The one's I bought were The Hunchback of Notre Dame,Sleeping Beauty,Pochahontas,Tarzan and The Aristocats.

Next was our stop off at the cinema to see Jennifer's Body. It was a bad film, but still enjoyable. Not sure whether it was supposed to be funny or not, but it WAS funny in parts. Diablo Cody writes humour much better than she does horror, I can tell you that much.

When we got home after the film we had Macdonalds (again) and settled down to watch the Uninvited. It's not as good the second time around when you know the twist, but it's still good watching. We then watched the Hunchback of Notre Dame and headed to bed.

Until Next Time

Woke up hungover. NOT FUN. Painkillers, more sleep and a shower solved that though.

We headed out to Notre Dame. We took pics then headed up to the first floor, and the gift shop. I bought my dad a gargoyle keyring because A.It was Notre Dame and B.we used to watch that programme Gargoyles on a saturday morning and it made me think of that. Then we headed up the rest of the 377 stairs (Laura counted) to the top, stopping off on the second floor for some air and more pictures. View from the top was pretty good, though it was a cloudy day.

After stopping off at the gift shop IN the catherdral, where I bought rosaries, we headed for lunch. I had a croque monseiur and coke - €5 for a glass of coke!

Stomachs full we headed to the Louvre, stopping off at the bridge that features in the last episode(s?) of Sex And The City. Whilst we were at this bridge a party boat of some kind floated past and it had snow on it! Needless to say as they passed under the bridge the occupants of the boat started lobbing makeshift snowballs at the spectators on the bridge. Luckily we weren't hit.

At the Louvre we found the Mona Lisa after much searching. It's a bit smaller than you'd expect, but still nice to see it. We then spent ages trying to find Da Vinci's The Last Supper, only to eventually be told that it resides in Italy and that the Da Vinci code is a very unreliable book. We stopped off at the gift shop where I bought nothing before going to see the inverted pyramid, which was pretty cool I must say.

Once home we got chinese in - PATHETIC PORTION SIZES! I had sweet and sour.

Dressed ourselves up again and headed off to the Eiffel Tower. We had a wander and watched the lights show. We tried to make it back in time to get caramel sundaes at Macdonalds before it shut at twelve, but alas we were too late!

Good day.

Until Next Time

Got up at half ten and had french toast made by Gina for breakfast. Showered and headed out.

First we hit the Musee De L'arts Decoratifs. We looked at an exhibition on Toulouse Lautrec. Then we looked at the jewellerry and fashion sections. It was pretty interesting.

Next we were going to go to the Louvre, but discovered it was shut on Tuesdays! Instead we went shopping on the Champs Elysees. On our way to the shops we stopped off at Haggen Daaz for ice cream which ended up coasting €70! I didn't buy anything at the shops. We headed home.

After dressing ourselves up we headed back up to the Arc De Triomphe where we discovered that because we were under 18 we couldn't climb up! A nice German couple offered to take us up but the woman serving wouldn't let us. Too Wee

So instead we watched the Eiffel Tower sparkle again and then headed down for something to eat on the Champs Elysees. We ended up at an Italian where I accidently ordered rissotto for Jamie and I. Eventually though I had spaghetti carbonara and then lemon and vodka sorbet, which I shared with Kirsty. I couldn't eat it though - the texture made me feel sick. On the way home I just about fell down the stairs to the metro.

Once home we had a drink or two and some very revealing truths came out in a game of Truth (without dares ) Overall a very good day and night.

Like it or lump it. If you're a friend you'll be able to see the pics on facebook, and if you're not, I really amn't that fussed about you seeing pics of me anyway. So here we go....

DAY FOUR - DISNEYLAND PARIS

Got up bright and early at 7am and had myself some scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast, burning half of the eggs to the pan - MY BAD. Turns out I can't function in a kitchen without non-stick pans.

We headed out to Disneyland Paris by train (all wearing our 'I Love Paris' hoodies btw!) which took quite some time and during this time my camera decided to have an utter spaz, making a noise that can only be described as a screech! And I couldn't get it to go off because the battery thing was jammed shut! Embarrasing, and many, many dirty looks were tossed my way.

Upon arrival at the park our tickets wouldn't scan through and so we had to be entered in through the turnstiles manually. Typical.

So, DISCOVERYLAND.

*Space Mountain - high speed, stomach churning fun. Bashed your head about a bit but overall a good ride. Much better than its American counterpart.
*Honey I Shrunk The Audience - This was our longest wait aside from Big Thunder Mountain. I don't like 3D and this done nothing to change my opinion. However it wasn't as scary as I've spent the past few visits to Florida imagining it was. The build up was too long for what was overall a bit of an unimpressive final product.

FANTASYLAND

*Tea cups - Fun,as expected.Notably though we all tried to fit into one tea cup and couldn't so had to split up. That was a bit disheartening I must say
*It's A Small World - Better than I remember it being. Really pretty and I got some good pics and video.

ADVENTURELAND

*Indianna Jones - Good fun, one of my favourite rides. Was a temple themed rollercoaster.
*Pirates of The Carribbean - I can see where the got the inspiration for the films from. Attention to detail was excellent. Very enjoyable. Would have been better if Johnny was there lol.
FOOD AT HAKUNA MATTATA RESTERAUNT. - CHICKEN,CHIPS,COKE AND CAKE. PRETTY ALRIGHT.
	FRONTIERLAND
*Big Thunder Mountain - long, long, long queue. Good ride though. I bought the pic of us on it afterwards.
After having been on all the rides we wanted to we were headed over to the studios park when we stopped to watch a show by Mickey and Friends. It was good fun, cheesey as, but what else do you expect from a Disney Park I suppose.
In the studios park we went on Crush's Coaster, which was a complete highlight of the day. So much fun.
Then we took some pics with Mike Wasowski from Monsters Inc. Then, because Rock n Rolla coaster was shut we headed back to the main park and caught the end of the parade before heading back on Space Mountain. It was much bumpier and sorer on the head this time round and I actually came off with a headache. We followed this with star tours which made me feel sick.
We then bought some stuff in the gift shops on mainstreet - I bought a Mickey Mouse Mug which is entirely awesome! Then we watched the night time show before jumping on the train home. Macdonalds for tea (Again) then it was off to bed.
	Great day.
	Until Next Time

Slept in until half ten, which was nice

On the way heading back over to the Eiffel Tower and River Seine for the cruise we'd planned we spotted a Hotel called Romeo and Juliet.

After wandering under the Eiffel Tower again we hopped on the cruise we'd planned for the day before. We paid for a pasta cruise and what a joke that was. The start was lovely; pretty scenery, nice pictures etc. But then the problems started. Basically, Jamie,Laura and I missed the entire cruise because we were inside waiting for what eventually turned out to be STILL FROZEN pasta! And on top of that, Kirsty,Gina and Gemma didn't even get the pasta they'd paid for - they got cheese and ham crepes! BOKE. All in all - rip off. The picture below is a cheery one of us,before the encounter with the fart in a trance boat guy who was badly microwaving pasta in between fannying about doing nothing. Yes I'm still bitter!

After we got off the boat we walked, and walked, and walked trying to find the fashion museum, or Notre Dame, whichever one we came to first. During the walk we bumped into a palace, a museum and suddenly we found ourselves on the Champs Elysees and looking up the road at the Arc De Triomphe. We kept walking down and had some crepes and fed some birds. They were cute, but the monster pigeons that followed weren't! After the crepes the walking continued and we found ourselves at the place de la concorde. Took some pictures of the obelisk and then we walked therough the gardens up to the Louvre. Turns out Jamie was lying to me about spotting Anne Hathaway's [Shakespeare's Wife] bed.Gutted. We found the fashion museum but we only got to go into the shop because the museum was shut by the time we got there. We got back there later in the week though,so all was good. After that we hit some gift shops and each bought an I LOVE PARIS jumper. Not that we're total TOURISTS or anything. I also bought a photoframe to frame one of our group pictures in front of the eiffel tower. Then it was home for a dinner of cheesey pasta, super noodles, cheese and ham baguettes, crisps and wine. As prepared by everyone. Classy.

We sang along to some Britney songs, pulled the curtains down by accident and there was a whole lot of I WANT YOU.....TO BE MY WIFE! Plus I had a wee breakdown over my hair (when did I turn into a depressing drunk!?) but hey, lets not go there.

Until Next Time

We had out first encounter with the metro, and headed to the eiffel tower.

I took a million and one pictures of the eiffel tower from every imaginable spot in Paris over the course of the week, so I'm of course not going to include them all in this blog, but here's a couple from the walk over to the tower. A nice tourist guy offered to take some group pictures of us in front of the tower so they're here aswell.

On the way over the the Eiffel Tower Jamie achieved some mighty haggling. There were men peddling various goods under and around the Eiffel Tower, and they were pretty diffcult to shake once they started talking to you. So I was pretty pleased when Jamie got them at their own game, haggling for some keyrings. Initially these keyrings were

As promised, here's my Paris journal. No shit - taken right from the page. This is what we got up to.DAY ONE.

[Here's the situation, if you don't know me. This October I headed off for my first trip abroad with my friends. Paris was our destination and we were there for 8 nights. Good times were had and this is going to be a blow by blow record of them.]

So:

DAY ONE: TRAVEL

I was up at the early, early, early hour of around 3am, barely any point in going to sleep really, but ah well. Headed to Laura's for fourish and headed off in the taxi to Glasgow airport at about half past four. IN THE MORNING! The things I do for fun.

Check in was at six thirty so we spent some time eating breakfast (cheese and ham toasties and a mocha from Starbucks) and taking some early morning pictures. CUE THE FIRST PIC OF THE BLOG

We were, unsurprisingly given our excitement, the first ones at check in. All was fine with the tickets and suitcases, however we did have one little panic when Kirsty's suitcase went on and came up at 23.3kg on a 20kg allowance. It soon settled at 19.9kg though, so we were lucky there!

Once through departures those who hadn't had breakfast yet snacked up, and I had a red bull, meaning after that and a mocha, I was fully caffienated and raring to go!

Going through security - Jamie, Laura and Kirsty were the unlucky few amongst us who got frisked. It was gonna happen to at least one of us, inevitably, so better that it was three together lol.

Flight was fine, and contrary to popular belief , I went for a pee twice. That's an improvement on last year's bathroom run in on my Florida flight (I know,I know, TMI. But those of you who know me, might understand where I'm coming from!)

Once we'd got our luggage, which all successfully came through without having been broken into or anything, we headed off for the train into the centre of Paris. And what a walk that was! MASSIVE,MASSIVE,MASSIVE Airport, which I think we must have walked the length of by the time we actually got to the platform. On the train:

After we got off the train is where we experienced our first problem of the week. We walked, and walked, and WALKED, but apparently the directions I'd printed off to get us from the train station to the apartment were wrong somewhere and what should have taken us about ten minutes ended up taking about half an hour!! Eventually we got there though and Giovanni knew who we were and let us in. The apartment was lovely but we had little time to settle in before it was off to try and find the fashion show at the Galleries La Fayette. We found a guy who was walking there aswell and so went with him (all the while Kirsty was insisting we were going to get kidnapped and sold for trafficking!? Really glad that I didn't watch Taken before we went!). Sadly though we weren't in time and so missed the show We split up into two seperate taxis, Jamie, Gemma and I in one, and Kirsty,Laura and Gina in the other.

Once we got back in, Jamie and I went down to the shop underneath us, taking about five minutes discovering how to open the front door of the apartment block, and bought milk and sugar so that everyone could have a cup of tea with the tea bags Gemma had brought. When we arrived back upstairs the others had got home, after being dropped in the wrong place by their taxi and having to walk it home, they'd stopped off at Macdonalds on the way and this made Jamie,Gemma and I hungry. So out we headed to grab some big macs. What a lovely first meal in Paris!

Other things that happened on that first day were Jamie and Gina having a sing along to We Belong Together

Gina made some jelly that was put in the fridge for breakfast the following day.
We sang 'I've got a feeling' with the lyrics 'this week's gonna be a good week'

Me and Jamie went to Macdonalds and bought caramel sundaes for everyone at midnight they sadly came with nuts

Overall, a good, but tiring first day.

Until Next Time

Sorry for the gap in my writing. I'm in a slightly less crazy place than I was earlier this week, but I think as soon as I've not got my Paris adventure with my friends to distract me, I'll be back to this crazy, upset state of mind. Oh well, I'll deal with that when it inevitably comes.

My apologies for my lack of blogging.I've been more than a mess lately and blogging about it wasn't really very appealing to me. So now it comes to the night before I go away and I figured I should probably update you before I head away.

Basically I'm currently considering leaving school - no real reasons to stay,it's only adding to my stress. The only reason I'd like to still be there is to see my friends, and I'm gonna see them on nights out etc anyway so its not as if I'd never see them.I'm not enjoying my courses, don't feel any less stressed than last year and could really do with earning a bit of money to put behind me to take to uni. So I think I'm gonna leave and try and get some work for the coming year. So that's that. Thoughts?

In other areas, I'm completely torn between two universities. I'm going to apply to both along with some others, but if I get accepted to both I'm going to have a very hard job deciding which one to go to. It doesn't help that I've got one parent who's totally for one of the places, and one who's completely for the other. Decisions, decisions.

And now my dinner is ready so I'm away to eat and then it's off to sleep so I can be awake at the bright and early hour of THREE AM to head off on holiday with the one group of people actually helping to keep me sane right now. It's going to be a fun filled week in Paris! And it's all kicking off tomorrow when we head to a fashion show as our first outing in the city of lights. Wish us fun,and safety.

I'll be blogging about each day of the holiday once I get back, much like I did with my Florida holiday last year. So, faithful readers, you'll have that to look forward to,along with some MANY pictures.

Oh and before I go, for the first time in almost two years I didn't post a monthly round up at the end of September. Sorry about that, I'd been blogging every day and it totally escaped me until I really couldn't be bothered doing it.I'll shove any important September happenings into my October round up when it comes, along with September's quotability.

Have a good week everyone, and I'll see you when I return, if I return, from Paris.

Until Next Time

But I can't,because it's all suppressed behind this stupid, stupid, stupid thing.
And I need to sort my head out because if I don't I don't know how to keep going.
Now would be a good time to step in and help me,God.

How's the mouth Kel? I'm doing good and am majorly excited for my trip to Bradford to see my film screened in a film festival. But anyway, that's tomorrow. Today was a good day. Went to the Edinburgh College of Art Library to get some info for my AH English dissertation. Then headed back into school for dramaramarama. Just been to see the higher shorts and I must say that they were better than what we put on this time last year. Now for today's main news item....

I'm going to learn how to cook. I'll not be doing it every day because,y'know, time. But every so often I'll post a wee story about my needless to say, interesting, adventures in the kitchen. I figure I'm going to be moving away soonish,I'd better learn how to look after myself. That means learning to cook, clean etc. I decided to start with cooking because it's the most appealing......

Moment of the day: Drama shorts.

So my question to you today: Any beginners cookbooks you'd reccommend? Or recipes?

I'm doing good, but am shattered. Kirsty and I went up to Robert Gordon Uni open day today. It was good, with some things being better than Stirling, others being worse. Overall I can't currently make up my mind between the two of them. I guess I've got some time.

So, today I thought I'd write about how much media is changing, particularly online media. We all get tv online now, whether thats through legal sources such as iplayer etc, or through illegal streaming. I'm trying to decide whether this is a good or bad thing.

Of course the internet allows for cult followings and fame to develop quickly. It provides a medium for shows that might not have anywhere else to go (see Dr. Horrible) and lets people access a wider variety of programmes and information in the form of video than ever before.

Thats all good, and it was all good, whilst it was a seperate thing to youtube. I thought it was all fine and dandy as long as youtube was a project of its own, youtubers themselves weren't making money off of it. Tv online could be seperate from youtube and they wouldn't cross over. Now though, there's the so called 'youtube celebrity' and people making money off youtube. The youtubers have sold out a bit really, and it upsets me because youtube COULD have been this alternative, non-profit [for the users] thing to come to to get away from the growing online media. But alas, all things come to money in the end.

This is just a rant really, I've strayed far away from my original topic and I can't remember where I was trying to go with this.
Sorry.

Moment of the day:Singing along to various songs, actions included, with Kirsty on the way home from Aberdeen.
Question of the day: How many of your tv shows do you actually watch on tv anymore, do you watch a lot online or?
My answer:I watch almost everything online nowadays.

Until next time

Nothing much to blog about today except I read this kind of ironic story earlier. It's not funny, but kind of makes you think, isn't life a bitch.

So there's a news headline "Robbed,Beaten and Shot:Bad Week for this OAP".

I thought YOU DON'T SAY.

Turns out the guy was eighty, which makes it sad. But here's how it went.

The OAP in question got broken into and beaten up, the theif then proceeded to steal some stuff from the old man. As if the poor man's luck wasn't bad enough, a few days later after recovering the man was at a self defence class learning to use a gun and his son SHOT HIM IN THE HAND! Bad luck,or bad luck? The irony of this just made me think : isn't life just a bitch sometimes?

Kirsty just told me another story that, despite being kinda sad, made me laugh.

A woman is sitting in her car outside a dough or bread factory (or somewhere) and she hears a loud noise. Then something hits her in the back of the head and she feels like she's been shot. She feels the back of her head and it feels like her brain is falling out, so she sits there scared for six hours, holding onto the back of her head until finally she realises that she wasn't shot, her brains aren't falling out and in fact she was just hit in the back of the head by a big lump of dough. Yes, you read correctly. DOUGH. Again I say, life's a bitch.

Moment of the day: The 'firedrill' at lunch.
Question: Will any other readers come out the woodwork and answer my questions?
My answer: TBC.

Until next time

Today was a good day. Again. My life is pretty good at the moment.

Started off well, just doing some note taking first period. Then in second period Kirsty and I registered for the Robert Gordon Uni open day, and looked through tips about Disney Land Paris. We also checked out how close we are to the Sex and The City Paris hot spots (pretty close it turns out ).

Third period was S.E and we had a talk about safe driving, The powerpoint was harrowing, and the statistics made me scared to start learning to drive. But I liked it that for once I came out of S.E actually thinking it was an hour decently spent.

Fourth period onwards was pretty uneventful.

The main good part of today was this evening spent at Kirsty's. Monday nights we always go to Kirsty's and tonight we all brought our new clothes for Paris and paraded around, fashion show style, showing them off to each other. It was fun and really got me in the mood for the adventures abroad that are soon to come.I really, really can't wait. I love the fact that of all the 'groups' in our year, we're the first ones to go away together properly. Like abroad together. It's going to be so good. I keep hearing from every angle that I'm going to love Paris, I guess in eleven days time we'll see if that's true!!

Moment of the day: Our cross dressing, bear all fashion show.
Question of the day:Top European destination to visit and why?
My answer:Rome-History.Pizza.History.Pizza.Ice Cream.

Until next time

Well I officially failed on this blogging daily project after exactly twenty nine days of continuous daily blogging. One day short of a month! But - I do have a good excuse. Yesterday I was at Stiling Uni open day all day and then came in with a migraine, woke up and threw up, then forgot all about blogging because I was feeling ill. So that's why my record has been ruined. So in this blog I'll cover yesterday and today.

YESTERDAY

Yesterday morning Mum,Dad and I set off to explore Stirling University, as on paper it's my top place to go. We set off about 9am and after arriving and registering, we settled into a carefully planned (by me) schedule for the day. It went something like this:

Introduction to the University talk

What I got from this was there's a lot of flexibility in terms of choices and you can take modules from pretty much any subject in your first two years before settling on your degree subject properly in third year. This is to give you the chance to change your mind, which I like.

Accommodation and Catering talk

In words it sounded great, the tour later on however made it seem less so. I was put off a bit by the fact that they didn't give you any prices in their talk, but further investigation reveals for your basic room its gonna be about £80 a week. A little steep for what we later were given a tour of....Catering - you feed yourself or pay pretty high prices for the on campus eateries.

Study abroad talk

One of the main things that made Stirling appealing to me was the opportunity for most of the degree choices to study abroad for either a semester or a year. They've got options to go to lots of places in Europe, as well as places further a field like Austrailia and Canada. From what I gathered, you pay the flight but when you get there you basically only pay as much as you would if you were here. So if your fees get paid here - your fees will get paid there. However, that means you'll be paying for accommodation, but I assume you get guaranteed accommodation in the Uni as an international visitor. So that is a really appealing option for me.

Film,Media and Journalism Studies talk

As this is the department I'd be studying in, this is the department whose talk was top of my list to hear. From what I seen there is a great opportunity for you to do practical work, along with a lot of flexibility to pick up modules relating to the career you're looking to get into. The guy who gave the talk was very passionate about the subject, knew what he was talking about in terms of technology and seemed very friendly. The head of the department was also friendly,if a little quiet. It just looked like a very well run and appealing department in all ways.

Tour of campus and accommodation

Well the guide was awful. He moved too quickly, not waiting for the line of people behind him to follow and spoke so that nobody could hear him. The halls themselves looked like prison blocks, both inside and out. But I suppose you can't expect five star luxury. They were liveable and I'm sure with some of my own pics and posters, a wee room there would look fine. I just expected a little more for your money.

Overall, the Uni measured up to my expectations and after seeing it is still my top place to go. It's incredibly beautiful aswell. Stunning trees and hills all around, aswell as being situated round a lake. It's really breathtaking. We kept seeing rainbows all day and my mum was like "this is a sign you've to come here Megan!" haha. I was thinking that too though....

As you've read above, the rest of yesterday consisted of a migraine and sickness so not much else to report.

TODAY

AM

CHURCH was great today. Would've been more enjoyable if my throat wasn't killing me and I could stop coughing for more than five minutes. Jamming session afterwards was good fun, and it was good to sing some newer songs. Looking forward to singing them in church sometime soon. Also got the news today that two more people have come forward for Baptism, so now there's three of us

PM

WORK was also pretty good today. A bit hectic because of stock take, but not bad. Met two of the Christmas Temps - Sarah and Joe. Joe was really lovely and reminded me of Eric a bit. And Sarah was ok, though seemed like she didn't really want to be there. Pizza before stock take was good aswell. And then counting, counting, counting for a couple of hours wasn't too bad. All in all. a good day today.

My my mum has Uni on the brain, and I'm slightly worried about how we're going to pay for it all. But oh well, people do it every year I suppose. Its just we're about a thousand pounds above the line where you get any help with anything, so I'll be getting like the miminum of financial support.. It's always been the same.

I'm away for an early night, got another busy week planned and then it's getting ready for Paris and off we go! It's only like twelve days to go now!

Moment of the day: Mum getting up and singing with us on stage
Question of the day: Is two jobs to try and pay for going away for Uni a stupid/bad idea?

Until next time

I'm good but insanely tired and with a very very sore throat. I've had an overall good day today, but something mortifying happened to me.....

I was shopping this afternoon, just for some bits and pieces. A gift, some tops, some books and other little knick-knacks. So I was halfway down the shopping list and in H&M picking up the tops I needed. I get to the desk to pay, hand over a twenty and the guy goes:

'sorry but I can't accept this'

'excuse me?' says me

'yeah, these notes aren't in circulation any more, so i can't take it. take it to the bank and they'll exchange it for you'....just like that, blurts out the till guy.

'ummm ok.' i said 'but i only just got given it in a birthday card....' says i

'sorry about that, but I can't accept it. have you got any other way to pay?' says sales boy.

'yeah,i'll just pay by card.....'

the usual akward card machine etiquette follows, him blatantly trying to distract himself as I put in my pin....two minutes later as the reciept prints

'sorry,but your card's been declined'

'you're kidding me?'

'no i'm sorry, this isn't your day is it. we'll try again....'

.........

'sorry but it's still being declined. have you got any other cash on you'

and so he has to take one of the tops off the bill and i hand over a tenner.

I then spent ten minutes worrying why my card had got declined and realised it was because I'd bought adapters for Paris on it this morning and totally forgot that would've brought my balance down.

Btw,I then proceeded to buy a birthday card with the twenty he'd rejected. Seems some places still take them afterall. Unless the girl didn't know what it was.

Anyhoo, aside from that mortifying incident, today was good. I got some books for AH English and a phrasebook for Paris.
Then I got a gift for my friend whose party I was invited to as I came out of Waterstones after getting the above mentioned books.

And I'm just in from the birthday bash now. Good times.

Moment of the day:Ashton:Hansel and Gretel....zzzzzzzzzzz
Question of the day: Most embarrassing encounter you've had in a shop?

I'm doing good!

Today was spent entirely in drama, 12 hours straight of running around and lighting and sound and techie stuff. Fun. No really,it was. I was sick twice, but aside from that things were great today.Things were also very, very tiring though so this is gonna be short and sweet.

Rehearsals all went fine and I think that by the time we were ready to perform, everyone was feeling good about their own pieces.

All the plays went well, no glitches. Until we got to mines!!!!

The followspot went off at one point that it wasnt supposed to, and then came back on, making the mistake blatantly obvious. And then the person on sound played a piece of voice over meant for the NEXT play, over the top of my play.....TWICE! Despite me being right next to her telling her it wasn't the right time to do it.

But my play looked good, and nobody forgot any lines or messed up any movement.

I really did enjoy everyone's plays, and they all came off fantastic. It's a shame that, aside from our exam, thats the last thing we'll do on the that stage.

So then, aside from a couple of tiny errors, that weren't on my part so I can feel fine about it, although they did both happen during my play (!), things went very well tonight.

So with the most stressful part of the course over, I can start to concentrate on my AH English dissertation. Yay.

Kelly, I've been thinking about you, and hope your mouth isn't too sore.

Moment of the day: Warm ups before the performances, dance party in ms lundy's room, foooooood.
Question of the day: Emmm.....tell me a random fact about yourself?

Today was majorly uneventful so there's nothing really to report.

Basically today was spent doing the history work thats to be completed for Friday and then freaking out about drama for the rest of the time. NOT FUN.

Alongside the fact that Ms. Lundy has shoved a bunch of younger kids in the lighting box with me for the show tomorrow, it turns out they don't even know what they're doing, and so today was spent teching everything all over again in order for them to pick up the cues. Therefore, I have no job left. Nice. I'm still gonna go down for my bow though.

The show is tomorrow, and so far, nobody seems to know what they're doing.....this is going to be a mini disaster. I bet you this time tomorrow all will be fine, but currently it just doesn't seem like it's going to come together.

Oh well. They'll clap no matter what, so I'm just counting down the hours till the show is over and I can rest easy.

This time tomorrow we'll know the outcome! Oh! Speaking of outcomes! I don't know if I mentioned this yesterday but I got my media appeal so now I have AAAB instead of AAAC

Woop!

Moment of the day:Watching White Chicks at Kirsty's
Question of the day:Best kind of pizza? (we're ordering into the school tomorrow because we're not leaving before the show and I'm trying to decide what to get)

A little skit I found that really spoke to me tonight about particular things I'm feeling.

Today I noticed some strange, but in most cases frustrating, things.

1. Bus Etiquette
Why is it that on a bus, people shy away from you when you sit next to them if you're a teenager? I've done an entire post on this in the past, check it out if you want my full opinions on this.

2. Queue jumping done by your superiors
Why does the headteacher feel it's ok to skip the entire queue of people waiting to get a snack, even though she's not got a class starting in ten minutes that she has to hurredly throw the food down her throat for.

3. People being entirely unsatisfied all the fucking time!
I've lit and teched and worked my arse off for my AH group, and today I felt entirely taken advantage of as a number of them decided it would be effective to shout things at me when I was busy trying to do three different things at once. All because they didn't feel I was doing it quickly enough. Well excuse me, but I was working without a cue sheet or a script in front of me, on technical I had NEVER done until that point. That's just underappreciation. Not as if I've stayed like an extra three hours every day for the past week to light all of your plays or anything, not as if you've all fannied about every time we've had a rehearsal for my play. Seriously, I think we might have killed each other by Thursday night. Cannot wait until this unit is over now, not least because I hate my play.

4. UCAS
Stupid, stupid UCAS. And personal statement - I don't know what the hell I'm doing!

Moment of the day: Watching Chloe's play all the way through and seeing it go well
Question of the day: The way you effectively deal with individuals who are causing you intense unneccesary stress, when talking to them about it will cause an argument of the ages.

Until next time

I'm doing good but seriously think I'm suffering from insomnia. I haven't slept properly in weeks and this past night just got to sleep at about 6.30am, when i was getting up at 7.30. Needless to say I was a bundle of joy today.Anyway, I've got a few questions for you...

For those of you who are not baptised or do not follow a faith
From (for want of a better term) an 'outsiders' perspective, how does Baptism sound and look to you. I mean baptism as an adult or teen, not a baby. What do you think it represents and do you think it's a strange practice? Your general thoughts on it?

For those of you who are baptised
What did you do in the lead up to it to prepare yourself, anything different from usual or?

The reason I ask these things is that I lately decided to get baptised and really am just trying to figure out what I'm going to do with myself spiritually in the run up to it, maybe so that I'm in a strong enough place to be able to give my testimony at the service.

So I was just wondering on your general opinions on Baptism.

Moment of the day: Becca: How nice a name is Sanna? Megan: What,like,Sanna-wich? (I don't think she heard me though so SHHHH!)
Question of the day: Do you know of any songs with lyrics fitting to baptism that I could reflect on?

Until Next Time

I'm doing good but have an INSANE amount of work to be doing and my play goes on on Thursday and I don't feel that it's nearly ready enough. But hey, there's a few days of rehearsal left yet, so, the show will go on.

So today was harvest sunday in my church and as is usual at this time of year we got to focus a little on how lucky we are compared to some. I think thats a little untrue sometimes, I mean just because we live in a western country, doesn't mean there aren't people starving. But anyway.

My attention was brought to something I have never even thought about before. In some places that are currently involved in conflicts or have been recently, the fields that would have once been used for farming are now riddled with landmines and bombs, just waiting to go off if the workers ever dare try to work the land, which is most times the best fertile land for farming.

Now it strikes me that this is a disgusting thing for any country to inflict upon another. As if death in the actual fighting isn't bad enough, or if fighting occurs within a country by people of differing opinions, they have to add to the civillian casualities by intentionally leading to them practically starving. It's clearly intentional and very disgusting because a country will of course not surrender in a war situation because of the welfare of its people, if that were the case wars would never be fought in the first place.

It just made me sick watching video footage of bomber planes destroying crops and farmland and putting farmers lives in even more danger.

Ah what a mess we've gotten things into.

Moment of the day: Watching X Factor with Mum
Question of the day: What was responsible for the collapse of the provisional government in russia in 1917!? This history essay is driving me mad!
